Constructed in 1348 and remained tallest structure of the city for centuries, Galata Tower is just 250 m. from Meroddi Pera. To get to the Galata Tower, turn left onto Tımarcı Street, and then take the first left and go down the Galip Dede Street. Something like 70 m. later, turn right onto Şahkapısı Street.
